StartNet Youth, the youth body of StartNet – Network for the school-work transition, has elected two representatives for the first time. StartNet Youth is a group composed of young people aged between 14 and 26, from Puglia, Basilicata, and Campania, who, together with StartNet, want to promote the school-work transition amongst youngsters and beyond, based on the Manifesto presented in May 2022 in Lecce.

TALKING TO YOUNG PEOPLE ABOUT THE MANIFESTO ACROSS ITALY

In September, the StartNet Youth group participated in various initiatives across Italy. After the launch of the Manifesto, the group is now starting to disseminate the document’s proposals, visiting events in Ascoli Piceno (Marche Region), in the Trentino Alps, in Trani (Apulia), focusing on the so-called PCTO (Percorsi per le competenze trasversali e l’orientamento – Pathways for cross-cutting skills and orientation) - the mandatory "curricular internships" that students have to attend outside of school, on career-guidance and youth co-leadership. StartNet Youth activities are divided into three areas: Communication, Projects and Training. Over the next few months StartNet Youth will continue to participate and organise events to put forward and discuss the Manifesto and develop project ideas together with its partners.
